| Summer Fair report... |

What a splendid day june 13th was! The bunting had gone up the previous Tuesday, the flyers had been handed out and the Church was full of all sorts of stuff, especially books. What a well-read lot we are at St Mary’s! We all woke up to sunny blue skies and thankfully knew that we could set up the tables outside.
There was something for everyone; a toy stall, face painting and a bouncy castle for the youngsters; a tombola, a bric-a-brac stall and plant stall for others; a coconut shy and tin skittles for the energetic, and a barbecue and café for the hungry. And, of course, the books stall.
It was great to see so many members of the local community and to get into conversations with people who we knew less well, and, as a bonus, we raised over £600! At the end we felt it was an enjoyable and worthwhile day – we had raised funds, met with quite a few of our neighbours and had fun in the process.
Many thanks to all those who helped to run the stalls and to those who supported it and made the Summer Fair such a great success on so many levels.
